Between Two Worlds Animation
Production Design (Environment and Background Artist)
In this project, Zahra collaborated with Zahirah to create an animation titled Between Two Worlds.
Zahra’s role focused on production design, which involved creating all the backgrounds, environments, and props for the animation. The project underwent an intricate process, supported by extensive research and real-life inspiration from Ciptagelar and Kamanggih Villages.
Between Two Worlds explores themes of renewable energy and Indonesian culture, highlighting the contrast between village and city life. The story celebrates the spirit of Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation) as the heart of community progress. In the animation, the village is portrayed as both advanced and deeply connected to its traditional culture. Despite embracing renewable energy technologies, the villagers continue to honour their customs and way of life, demonstrating that innovation and tradition can thrive together.
This section showcases my selected works in environment design and production, highlighting my process from profound research, concept development to final visual execution:

Art Book
The production design
of “Between Two Worlds Animation”
Zahra also created an art book that documents her entire creative process behind the environmental designs, from initial research and visual exploration (sketches, Animatic storyboard, concept art, final designs) to user testing and final outcomes. It reflects her approach to creating the environment and production design. Since the website offers a limited view of the work, this book provides a more complete look at her workflow.
